Did you know that Turkish cinema produced the most number of western films after Americans and Italians (spagetti western)? The Turkish western film invasion began in 1967 and continued almost 7 years resulting in more than 100 films and surely lots of laughs. Almost all famous film stars of those years had taken roles in these low budget movies.

It is so funny watching Cangos, Ringos, Gringos, bad bandits, cruel barons, “Turkish” Mexican babes, scheriffs and redhead indians knowing that our culture and people are totally different. Turkish cinema also owns a high number of famous film ripoffs like Superman, Batman, Star Trek, Exorcist etc. You can watch them daily to fight with stress and feel the real absurd. Here are the Turkish Film Ripoffs.

One of the cities of Turkey, Balikesir, municipality of the city announced that there will be hailing and raining much that day. The citizens taken cautions by covering their cars with every kind of objects they could find including cartons, rugs and even carpets ! I adore very scientific solutions of my people !

There is an old but funny tradition in Manisa Sarigol in Turkey which was kept for centuries called “Kepce Gelin”.

Children visit homes by saying songs and making sounds with the aluminum boxes and other strange stuff. The houseowners make them wet by water hoses. It is accepted as a type of Rain Prayer and blessings for the people living there to get more rain for their vegetable, fruits,wheat and corn fields. Anyway, children like it )

Everyone dreams about a nice long holiday near one of the sourthern seashore cities now in Istanbul in the hottest of these summer days. I will try to introduce you my favorite holiday resort in Turkey and in which hotel we stayed there. Marmaris, a mirror of paradise on Earth. The unique feature of Marmaris is that it has everything together like a gift from nature. A beautiful and very clean turquoise sea of Aegean mixing with the forests nearby.

We had chosen Laguna hotel in Icmeler district (15 minutes to Marmaris by minibuses), small affordable but very nice hotel. Here are some photos of this lovely hotel, from Icmeler and 2 more from Marmaris center at the end of the article. The room and beach has an amazing panoramic view. The beach is soft sand and laying under long palm trees are just great. The bar near the pool is unique as well and you sit under the water for a cool feeling. We especially liked the music provided here 3 nights a week including entertaining but not loud Mediterranean guitar music and a Turkish night which is full of traditional food and cultural activities like music and dances. I also suggest you to not always stay in the hotel and go to the bars&clubs street in Marmaris. This place is fun, lively and provides everything for the tourists who seek entertainment without borders as well. You can go crazy here. Don’t worry natives of this place also like it.

I will not talk about the facilities in the hotel because now almost all hotel in this district are all inclusive with every facility you can imagine including excellent food, restaurants, sporting, SPA activities etc. For us, the pleasure for the soul, eyes were the priority and we left our holiday with great feelings. Moldavian beauty Ekaterina Sau has won Miss Tourism World 2007 Beauty Contest in touristic paradise of Turkey/ Antalya in Adam & Eve Hotel. Girls from Dominic Republic and Kyrgyzstan followed her. 18 years old Ekaterina has told that she has seen the crown in her dreams. As we are interested in more about the bikinis than silly dreams I would like to go to the needed step instantly. Here are some photos from the contest.
